Monika GilSing belebt mit der leuchtenden Farbigkeit ihrer Arbeiten expressive Figuren und Bildwelten – auf Leinwand, Papier, Holz- und Stahlskulpturen, wehenden Windbildern und vielem mehr. Der autobiografische Bezug in GilSings farbigen Bildchiffren sowie die Vielfalt ihrer Interessen sind in ihrem Werk stets spürbar. Die Symbiose von Rationalität und Irrationalität, Logik und Fantasie zeichnet das Bild eines einfühlsamen und facettenreichen künstlerischen Schaffens.
Monika GilSing wurde in Hamburg geboren und studierte dort Kunst und Grafik. Heute lebt sie zwischen Nord- und Ostsee – doch ein Zimmer in Wien gehört immer dazu. Dazwischen ist sie unterwegs, als Reisende und Sammlerin erzählerischer Bildgeschichten aus aller Welt.

With the vibrant colours of her works, Monika GilSing breathes life into expressive figures and imagery – on canvas, paper, wood and steel sculptures, waving wind images and much more. The autobiographical references in GilSing’s colourful visual symbolism, as well as the diversity of her interests, are always palpable in her work. Rationality and irrationality, logic and imagination blend to paint a picture of a sensitive and multifaceted body of artistic work.
Monika GilSing was born in Hamburg, where she studied art and graphic design. Today, she lives between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea – but she’ll never give up her room in Vienna. In between, her travels take her all over the world collecting narrative stories in the form of images.
